My Five Favourite Christmas Cards

Well that's it Christmas over for another year and what a lovely time I have had with the family.  Hope everyone out there in blog land has also had a wonderful Christmas.

Not had chance to post much over the last few weeks, what with the patio being built, getting ready for Christmas, work, life etc blogging had to take a bit of a back seat.  I did however make quite a few Christmas cards but as yet not blogged any of them. So when I saw Debby's post to show your five favourite Christmas cards I thought here's my chance to show you at least five :)

I didn't buy any new Christmas stamps this year as I still hadn't used half the LOTV ones I brought last year, so I stamped them all up selected some pens and coloured them all in.
Some of them still haven't been made into cards and I know there are blogs out there where you can make a Christmas card a week/month, if anyone knows of one point me in the right direction, as I really want to get ahead of myself this year :)

Anyway here are my five...........................

Pop over to Debbys blog and show off your top five xmas cards, there is also some very nice candy to be won :)

This may be my final post of the year depending on what time I get, so if it is I wish you all a very lovely NEW YEAR!

Less is More - One Layer

Well I feel like I have been a bad blogger of late, but as I think I said in my last post I have been having the garden done, which has taken nearly five weeks!  My craft room is in the back garden and I had to walk across the mud to get to it so the motivation I'm afraid was just not there but as you can see in the final picture I now have a patio and life can start returning to normal.

I have made a few cards, which I will post another time but as I haven't played along with Less is More for a few weeks I was determined to join in this week specially as it's one layer week  ;)
This weeks one layer challenge is In a Row.  I have used an embossing folder I got free with a magazine and the sentiment is from a free Molly Blooms set, which has been embossed with WOW powder and wow am I impressed with these.  Only have silver and white at the mo but will definitely be getting more.  I was going to use gems in the centre of the snowflakes but wasnt sure if these were allowed on one layer so went with glitter instead.  The card I used is also pearly but as many of you know trying to photograph the sparkly is soooo difficult.  This was a lovely simple card to make so think I will be making a few of these :)

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend and thank you for popping by :)

Kenny K - Traditional Christmas Colours

I must apologies for the late posting this week and for not being around much recently, but I am having a patio and conservatory built and at the moment it is like a mud bath outside my back door and also my route to my craft room. The weather we have been having in the Midlands is really holding the builders up and the mess is just unbelievable.

Anyway back to this weeks challenge, fortunately I had made this card a while ago for the Kenny K Traditional Christmas Colours, using Bow (adult) from the latest Kenny K release.  The papers were a freebie with a magazine and the flowers I have had for ever.
Kenny K has also released some new images this week called Kid Nation and they are all boys on skateboards and my gosh you should see what the DT have come up with using these, I can't wait to give them a try when I can get back into my craft room properly

Do pop over to the Kenny K challenege and join in, there are some great prizes up for grabs.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend and haven't been affected to much by the weather.

Kenny K - Monochrome

Time for another fabby Kenny K challenge which this week is Monochrome and is sponsored by Marianne Design

I have used the very gorgeous Socilate for this card, coloured with promarkers and added a bit of sparkle. Used some flowers that I think I have had for ever and added a few pearls. Papers are from Docrafts called Happy Days and a LOTV sentiment.

Why not pop on over and join in with the challenge and use a Kenny K image to be in with a chance of winning a great prize.

Have a great weekend :)

Found another challenge to enter this card in to, which I have only just found and very nice blog it is as well called Fussy and Fancy and the challenge is Pearls and Flowers

Less is More - One Layer Houses

My gosh what a long week, so glad it is the weekend.  Had a fabulous day yesterday at the NEC with one of my friends and thankfully didn't spend to much money.  Saw the marvelous Barbara Gray and the Create & Craft team and chatted to the very lovelly Michael Powell, love his images and didn't realise they started out as cross stitches.  Brought a couple of his stamps as I haven't managed to buy them from anywhere else.

Anyway on to this weeks Less is More challenge, one layer with a houses theme, not scared of these anymore, infact more and more of my cards are now just one layer. The very talanted Jen has stepped up to help Chrissie while Mandi continues the set up of her new business venture. Look forward to seeing lots of her fab creations :)
Used some kraft card that I treated myself to yesterday, not really used this card before so am stepping into new territory. Used white ink to create a bit of a snow and used Clarity stamps to make the rest of the scene.  Used a white gel pen and some diamond sticklers but can't really show the sparkle on the photo.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend :)

Kenny K - Anything but a card

Another Sunday and time for another Kenny K challenge and some fantastic new Kenny K images!

This week we were challenged to make anything but a card and I have been meaning to make one of these book marks for a long time.  Would have been perfect for one of my boys but they all have Kindles lol
This new image is called Skater Boy and with seven nephews I can see him being used alot.  He is coloured with promarkers, paper is printed from a cd, I think a Wellington one and the rest of the bits are from my stash.

Don't forget to pop over to Kenny K's and see the other fab creations made by the rest of the design team and join in yourself with the challenge, there are some fab prizes up for grabs :)

Less is More - Sketch

Back again, thought I would have another go at this weeks Less is More sketch.
Really like his design and will probably play some more with this one.  Thought I would make a start on some Christmas cards.  I used a stencil with some glitter snow and a precut border all of these I have had forever so about time they got used.
Anyway nearly the end of X-Factor and then bed as I have to work tomorrow :(

Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

Less is More - Sketch

Well it's another sunny Saturday here but it is freezing!! I do love sunny frosty mornings so different to the rainy misty days we have had all week.

The Less is More challenge this week is to follow a sketch, this is a bit of a summery card, but as I only got this new Clarity stamp the other week I wanted to use it and the sun is out :)
Used the foilage big and juicy again and memento rich cocoa to stamp the image.  Another quick and simple card and again one layer hehe

Have a fab weekend all and thank you for stopping by :)

Saturday 20 October 2012

Less is More - Autumn

Nearly the end of another Saturday and just watching the end of x-factor before heading off to bed.

Thought I would post this card for the Less is More challenge, which this week is Autumn.  Have played with a few stamps using Foliage Big and Juicy, didn't really like any of my other creations but decided this one wasnt to bad.
The stamp is a new one that came the other day from Clarity and I even made it one layer!  Used a spellbinder to emboss a frame and then masked it off and just sponged inside. Very simple :)

Hope everyone has enjoyed their Saturday :)

Sunday 14 October 2012

Kenny K - Think Pink

Another Sunday and another fabby Kenny K challenge.  As it's breast cancer awareness month this weeks challenge is 'Think Pink'
Used the very 'Luscious Linda' and coloured her with copics.  Used a flower punch and some dies and made the flower using my cameo.  The sentiment I found on the internet.

Why not join in this week over at Kenny k's and dont forget to use a Kenny K image to be in with a chance to win. :)

Saturday 13 October 2012

Less is More - Wings

Another beautiful sunny Saturday and time for another Less is More challenge.  This week is the dreaded one layer! But is it, think I am finally getting used to these.
Had this Joanna Sheen stamp for a while and have never used it.  Stamped it with memento ink and coloured it with Prisma's, the sentiment is also from the same set.

Hope everyone has had a fab week and now enjoying the weekend :)

Saturday 6 October 2012

Less is More - Silver

This weeks Less is More challenge is silver, I made this card a while ago for a silver wedding aniversary.
Used a flower punch and Marianne Dies and the wording is a silver peel off.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend, nice and sunny again here so heading back into the garden. :)

Sunday 30 September 2012

Time for another challenge at Kenny K which this week is to make a card that isn't square.
I brought a box of different shaped cards from Kanban a while a go and have only just started using them. Used Teen Idol and coloured with promarkers. The papers are from Papermania, Happy Days.  Added a couple of buttons and a die cut Happy Birthday.  This card is destined for another nephew for his birthday.

Less is More - Love & Marriage

Time for a quick post before heading off to bed.  Had a busy day to day clearing the garden ready to start my new patio and then eventually a new conservatory.

I can not believe I got showcased with my Less is More card the other week it is such an honour.  Missed joining in last week so was determind to make a card for this weeks Love & Marriage challenge.
Coloured this lovely LOTV image a while a go using promarkers and some stickles.  Added a frame and a Marianne die sentiment.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend.  Back to the garden again tomorrow, still got some plants to move if my back can take it hehe :)

Saturday 22 September 2012

Sweet Stampin - How Charming

Well considering we actually had frost this morning, it has turned into quiet a nice sunny day.

Thought I would join in with the Sweet Stampin challenge as it's to use a charm and I had already got this card made for a friends birthday.
I love these Saturated Canary images and they are a dream to colour.  I used my MS punch to create the border round the image and a Marianne Die for the sentiment.  I brought so many of these little charms from The Works, usually there are 6 in a packet and only cost a £1, keep forgetting to use them.  This card is actually for a 21st birthday so I may still put a 21 on it somewhere.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your weekend, hope it's sunny where you are :)

Sunday 16 September 2012

Less is More - Oval

Quick post before heading off to bed.  Had another go with the sponge, inks and Clarity stamps for the Less is More challenge.
This weeks challenge is to use an oval, so got the spellbinder die out again and used a big and juicy and adirondack ink to create the back ground.  Used a couple of Clarity Stamps and kanban stamps with Stazon jet black.  The image is mounted on foampads and scored some lines on the card as I thought it looked a little plain.  Still in two minds if I should add a sentiment, but for now will leave it blank.

Hope everyone has had a fab weekend and thank you for stopping by :)

Kenny K - Black & White + 1

Well it's Sunday again and time for another fabby challenge at Kenny K's which this week is black & white + 1.  Sponsers this week are Kenny K and Bearly Mine Designs (some fab freebies over there!)

Love these new Halloween images and this Haunted House is just brilliant.  My printer is not the best for printing really strong black so had to go over the image with a black promarker.  Think you can guess what my other colour is although the moon and the 1 window I coloured doesn't show to well on the photo.
The rest of this card is thanks to my silhoutte, just love all these shapes you can cut out with it.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend :)

Saturday 8 September 2012

Less is More - Foilage

What a glorious week we have had, why is it the sun comes out when we are back to work and school!  Oh well at least with everything now back to normal I should have a bit more time for crafting :)

This weeks Less is More challenge is the dreaded One Layer with the theme of foliage.

Am I getting more comfortable with this theme, hmm am not sure, but after watching Barbara Gray last week I did think it was time to use my stamps a lot more and have a go masking and inking.  I didnt go as far as getting the brayer out but did have a go with a sponge, nestie and some post-its.
The sentiment stamp is from Clarity but the leaf stamp is from a poinsettia set by Sheena Douglas.  Used Adirondack Lettuce and Memento Rich Cocoa for the inking and stamping.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend and enjoying the sunshine :)

Mo's - Anything Goes

Couldn't resist having a go at Mo's challenge again, which this week is Anything Goes.
Downloaded this cute image the other day.  Needed a card for one of the girls at work who has been with us part time while she studied to be a nurse and she has now got her first job in nursing at Birmingham Children's Hospital, so this little card is to wish her luck in her new job :)

Hope everyone is having a good week and thank you for stopping by :)

Kenny K - Back to School

It's Sunday again and it's now also September, where is the year going never mind the weeks!

Back to work unfortunately tomorrow and kids back at school on Wednesday, which happens to be Kenny K's topic for this weeks challenge.
I used the lovely Queens Cutie, which I have had forever and never used, but she was a joy to colour in using promarkers.  She is sat on some books from TLC as is the sentiment, again had these forever and not used them.  Papers are from DCWV and used my Cameo for the back to school and apple.

Hope everyone has had a fab holiday and have recharged the batteries ready for some crafting :)

Saturday 1 September 2012

Less is More - Brown & Pink

It has been a while, holidays and life has kept me away from the craft table, but today I decided I was devoting the whole day to crafting.  So far I have had to wash up and tidy the kitchen get the washing out on the line and I am going to have to go shopping soon as bread and milk are running very low.  So much for all day crafting!!

Have managed to make one card for the Less is More challenge, which this week is brown & pink
This was a very simple card using promarkers and cocoa memento ink pad.  Stamps are from kanban.  Really liking this card, so think I will be making some more like this.  My OH daughter has been doing some voluntary work in Oxfam and I have given her all my Less is More cards to sell for charity.  Think some of these will be heading her way as well, nice to know they are going to something worth while rather than sitting in a box in my craft room.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend :)

I used the lovely Star for my card and coloured her with Promarkers.  Paper is from DCWV, flowers are from WOC.  Used punch from MS and dies from Cheery Lynn and Crealies.  Added plenty of sparkle, which doesn't show up in the photo.

Why not pop over to Kenny K's and see what else the design team have come up with and have a go yourself :

Mo Manning - Anything goes

Can't believe I have managed another post this weekend.  Feel like my mojo has been on vacation lately and haven't been able to motivate myself to do anything.  But I have a lot of Birthday's coming up so really needed to pull my finger out and these amazing images from Mo Manning have been a great help today.

This card is 8x8 and is for my son who will be 16 next week and I have used Computer Guy. Coloured with promarkers, papers are from K&Co called Hopscotch, a Marianne di and a bit of digital cutting.
The challenge over at Mo's is anything goes, so thought I would show him off.  Got another card to make now for one of my many nephews who turns 18 in a few weeks.  Got the fab Computer Guy all coloured in and ready to go, hopefully get chance to show you him on another challenge.

Less is More - Blue & Green

Finally Saturday, feels like I have had a very long week. Work and life seem to have taken over recently and of course the Olympics, hehe, and I don't seem to be finding time to do anything else.

Not managed to participate in the Less is More challange the last few weeks, but managed to have a quick go today.  I have been playing with my new Cameo Silhoutte and downloaded this image this morning.  I had to cut this out a few times on different mediums to get the final cut, which is actualy cut on vinyl.

I am not a fan of blue & green but I do like these shades together.  Not sure if Chrissie & Mandi will go with this being less is more, not much clean space with this one but I do love the idea.

Off to have some tea then hopefully get some time to do some blog visiting, while watching more Olympics :)

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday

I have not managed to join in with this blog for quiet a while now, but I do still check in with Julia every now and again and have a quick mooch around some of the desk out there in blog land.

I spent all day Saturday completely gutting my craft room, threw stuff away, filed papers away, organised stamps, cleared my desk and gave it a good clean and then look what I filled it with!!
Have been eyeing up one of these for ever and they had them on Creat & Craft on Sunday so after more delibaration and some pushing by my OH (can't believe he was encouraging me to buy it) I ordered it and it arrived yesterday.

Work has been a little manic so have only managed a little play with it tonight and am hopeing to get more time at the weekend to really put it through it's paces hehe

Anyway thank you for popping by, and if you want to see some more desks out there pop by Julia's blog xx

Sunday 22 July 2012

KennyK - Strawberries & Cream

Well it's the end of a very busy week, work has been manic, youngest son had his leaver asembly at junior school and it was his birthday on Friday.  Not had much time to make cards never mind blogging but I did spend most of Saturday clearing, sorting and tidying my craft room so now I don't want to make any cards as I dont want to mess it up hehe.

I did however make this card for the KennyK challenge, which this week is Strawberries & Cream.
Used the very sweet 'Club Kid' and coloured her with promarkers and copics.  Paper is from g.c.d and all the other bits are from my stash.

Why not head on over to KennyK's and show us your take on Strawberries & Cream :)

The flower and mesh were from my KennyK win last year :)
This card I actually made for my nephew who was 18 last week and used the very hansom Ryder Cole. Won him the other week off another KennyK challenge :) Papers are from K&Co called Hopscotch, another sentiment from LOTV & the 18 today was computer generated using Crazy Loot.  The rest of the bits are from my stash.
