Less is More - Music

Another very quick post today to enter this card into the Less is More challenge, which this week is music. As Christmas gets closer I am finding less and less time to blog, so for my lack of commenting I apologies, everything should be back to normal as soon as Christmas is out of the way.
Anyway this card is all Barbara Gray and it's all direct onto the card, no layers here hehe. The Joy is embossed with silver sparkle powder, didn't use a brayer mind just sponged the blue using a big and juicy. Have done a couple in gold as well but think I prefer the silver as it's more sparkly :)

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas and just incase I don't get chance again have a fantastic Christmas and New Year :) xx

Less is More - Let it Snow

Really quick post tonight, wanted to get this in for the Less is More challenge which this week is a one layer Let it Snow
Took inspiration from Chrissie for this weeks card as I had brought myself some white embossing powder and really wanted to try this technique of embossing and then inking over the top. Not sure I like the green, but will be making some more in the blue to give out :)

Not sure I will make it round everyone this week as I am so late getting on the blog, but there are some fantastic creations over there :)

Less is More - Colour Green

Bit late with this again this week for the Less is More challenge which this week is to make a card using the colour green. Well struggled again with this, spent the weekend watching Barbara Gray on Create and Craft and had a play with her stamps from lesson one using a big and juicy.
Have enjoyed making prety patterns with this corner stamp and will have another play.

Did have a bit of a play with the brayer and a christmas tree stamp but not sure how to make these into a card that I liked.

Hope everyone has had a fab weekend, really need to make a serious start on making Christmas cards, at this rate I am going to be buying some!! hehe

Less is More - Bling

Oh boy another weekend nearly over, can't believe how quickly they are going. A bit late with this card for the Less is More challenge which this week is Bling.
Rediscovered this stamp last week and am really enjoying using it, unfortunately the photo doesn't show how blingy this card is. Stamp has been embossed with silver and filled with glitter and sparkly gems and mounted on some silver mirror card.

Going to use this stamp to make some more christmas cards, hope everyone has had a fab weekend, beautiful day here today, can even here someone mowing their lawn!!

I ♥ Promarkers - Christmas Tree

Back again, on a bit of a roll today. Thought I would have a quick go at the I ♥ Promarkers challenge, which this week is Christmas Trees.
Have had this stamp forever and used to make Christmas cards when I first started crafting. Have had a bit of a play with it using different embossing powders and liked thisone the best, which is embossed with silver and has a bit of sparkle. Have used Clarity silk card to stamp the image and then used promarkers in different shades of purple. Layered the image on some purple and silver card, the word vellum is something else I have had for ever and not even sure where it came from. Think I might make a few more of these. :)

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment so I kow you have visited :)

Kenny K - Kids Rule

Kenny K have brought out some fab new images of kids so to coincide with this release their challenege this week is Kids Rule.
Made this card for my nephew's birthday and these cute boys are called Tug of War, actualy got these when they were a freebie but this is the first time I have used them. They are coloured with promarkers and copics and then cut out. Used some papers from stash and added some stars and a ready made tag and that was about it for this one.

Can't believe it is Sunday again where do the weeks go, hope everyone has had a fab weekend and roll on the next :)

Less is More - Silhouettes

Before I get into this weeks Less is More challenge can I just thank everyone that visited me last week and commented on my card, I really appreciate it :)

Anyway struggled again with this weeks Silhouette challenege as you can see below, had various ideas but couldn't seem to pull any of them together.
Anyway went with a stamp I have had for ever and never made into a card. After stamping the image I clear heat embossed it a few times and popped it in the freezer to crack the glaze (doesn't show up that well in photo) and matted on some black card. Base card has a pearl sheen to it and added stamped a sentiment.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend and another thank you to Chrissie & Mandi for running the best challenge :)

Less is More - Leaves

Well this week at Less is More is a one layer card, which I always struggle with and what made it worse Chrissie & Mandi want leaves, I just don't have any leaf stamps, or so I thought, after a good rummage remembered I had a Clarity set containing little leaf stamps.
Used Chrissie's embossed card for inspiration for this one and used a big & juicy, is it me or are all my cards looking very orange/red of late, think I need some new inks hehe.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend, thank you for all your lovely comments :)

I ♥ Promarkers - Follow That Sketch

Haven't entered an I ♥ Promarkers challenge for ages, but made an effort to have a go at this one this week as it's a fabby sketch.
Brought a selection of Lilly of the Valley stamps when they were released back in July and this is the first time I have made a card with them, how bad is that. Have coloured her with promarkers and used some free papers from Cradmaking and Papercraft. Really enjoyed colouring this image so off to go ink up some more :)

Hope everyone has had a fab week and thank god it's the weekend. Thak you for popping by and don't forget to leave a comment so I know you have visited :)

Oh and welcome to my new followers, thank you for joining me on my crafty journey :)

Kenny K - Celebration

Just time for another quick post tonight. Actually started making this card last week for the Kenny K challenge and didn't manage to get it finished so thought I would us it this week as the theme is celebration and I have made this card for partners, daughters 18th.
Used the very fab Devilish Donna, she is one of my fav's, and coloured her with promarkers and copics. Papers are from DCWV called Street Lace and are another favourite. This is also an 8 x 8 card and just need to finish off the inside and make a box rather than squeezing it in to an envelope.

Thank you for stopping by and please leave a comment as I love to read them :)

Less is More - Red & Orange

Really late with the Less is More challenge this week, which is Red & Orange and WOW there are some seriously stunning cards over on the challenge blog. Ended up having a really busy weekend, took my boys into town on Saturday and saw Tin Tin, which was brill, mother came round for dinner on Sunday and she made me plant 60 tulip bulbs in the garden and have just got back from a meeting at number 2 sons school and speaking to colleges so he can make up his mind what he wants to do next year when he finishes................phew...........so thought I best get this card in quick before the week disappears as well.
Used promarkers and Clarity silk card, which I haven't used before with promarkers and the background did get very wet and took a while to dry. I stamped the image on top using Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured the flowers again with promarkers. Did a quick bit of layering and added some gems.

Hope everyone had a fab weekend, will try and get round to some commenting, but have been having some quick peeks at the entries and they are all really lovely, do like this colour combo and will have to use it again :)

Less is More - Stars 2

Back again, thought I would have another go at the Less is More challenge. Have been having a bit of a rumage through some old stash and found this embossing pattern that I brought years ago to use with glitter snow. Never really used it much so I thought I would give it another go.
The white paste is quiet sparkly, but doesn't show up to well in the photo and mounted it on holographic silver card and stamped sentiment straight on to the card. :)

Less is More - Stars

Well this week at Less is More the challenge is for STARS. Struggled a bit this week and I don't have anything stary apart from this Fizzy Moon stamp.
I think I should have really used the stamp direct onto the card, but then I would't have been able to colour it with copics, so I cut the image out after colouring it and added some spray and sparkle to the star. I then couldn't decide what to do with the card blank as it just seemed to plain so I put it through the cuttlebug with the dotty embossing folder, then realised I couldn't stamp the sentiment direct onto the card, oh well. Added a few stars and that's about it for this week.

Hope everyone has had a fab half term and weekend, I have just got my boys back after they spent a week with their dad so off to spend some time with them :)

Less is More - Polka Dots

Woot managed to get another post in today. Less is More challenge this week is Polka Dots. Managed to miss last weeks challenge as I couldn't think what to do and hadn't got a cocktail image (have now mind!) and then the working week took over so was determind to get a card in to this weeks challenge.
Put the base card through my cuttlebug with the dotty embossing folder and used a flower from hunkydory, which I brought ages ago and still haven't used and stamped the sentiment with memento Rich cocoa. Not very imaginative I know but I do love the simplicity of these cards, mind you if you see my post below, thats a card I went all out on with embelishments hehe.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend and have a great half term if your lucky enough to have the week off :)

Kenny K - Get Dotty

Have been a bit of a bad blogger lately, really don't know where the time has been going. Have been making cards but haven't blogged a lot of them as they haven't fitted any of the challenges but this weeks Kenny K challenge is Get Dotty.
Made this card a few weeks ago for my son's girlfriend for her 18th. It's an 8x8 card, which I love. Used the fab Kitty Katastrophe and coloured her with copics and promarkers. Papers are from a DCWV called Hippie Chic, which is just full of brightly coloured, sparkly paper and I love it! Added die cuts and flowers and lots of sparkle, dont think it shows up to well on the photo.

I also made a box for this card as I didnt want to squeeze it into an envelope.

Thank you for stopping by and apologies for not entering many Kenny K challenges, I love these images and have sooo many now after the blog hop win i'm still trying to get through them all :)

Less is More - One Layer ♥

This week at Less is More is time for another one layer card using a heart. Always struggle with this style and tried various different things with heart stamps but couldn't get anything to work.
Found a heart stencil while having a rummage and used a big and juicy to sponge through it. Used memento rich cocoa to stamp the foilage image, bee and sentiment and added a few white highlights.

Will add this card to the collection for my mother. Off to do some commenting, didn't get chance last week. Have a great weekend all :)

Less is More - The colour of your eyes

Well the girls over at Less is More set a fab challenge this week, to create a card using the colour of your eyes.
After seeing some of the amazing creations for this challenge, am not to sure about this card. Used a daisy stamp with the waterfall big & juicy and cut out a seperate flower which has been coloured with promarkers and a bit of glitter added to the centre. Don't think the cut edge round the daisies is neat enough, but liked the idea.

Anyway quick post tonight, hope everyone has had a fab week and roll on the weekend :)

Less is More - Sketch

Back again hehe, so easy to put cards together when you already have bits made.
Followed the sketch again at Less is More and used Christmas Rose stamp by Sheena Douglas. Image is coloured with copics and some liquid pearls added to the centres. Used a dotty embossing folder and stamped the sentiment direct to the card.

Thank you again for stopping by :)

Less is More - Sketch

Well what an absolutley fantastic week Less is More had with their 1000 card challenge, I have never seen so many entries, really brilliant effort and hats off to Mandi & Chrissie to commenting on every entry you girls are amazing!!

This weeks challenge is a nice easy sketch and I had already got bits ready for cards last week, but i got hit with a nasty cold so didn't get to complete them all!!
Used a Polkadoodles stamp and for the first time got out my brayer, which I have had for months. Used a big & juicy and brayer to create the background, Barbara Gray makes that technique look so easy, took me a couple of tries and to be honest it's still not the best but thankfully only need a small piece of the card. I didn't have a stamp that says anything about home or new home and didn't really want to computer generate anything and stick it on the card so used some See-Ds letters which I have had for years and again never used, why do we purchase these things?!

Not overly sure about this card, but will be adding it to the collection I am making for my mother. Have a fab weekend and thank you for looking :)

Less is More 1000 card challenge

Well here's number 2, I know very similar to the first but really liked this idea. Am going to use these cards to make a collection for my Mom all boxed up pretty for Christmas so she is never without an emergency card :)

Less Is More 1000 Challenge

Really quick post tonight - have been trying to get cards made for this challenge since Saturday, but work, life, cold etc just keep getting in the way!!!!
Less is More want a 1000 entries this week for their challenge and they are just over half way (never going to get round all those cards to comment - lol). My friend came round last night to do a bit of crafting and she had this lovely stamp, no clue what it is and made a one layer card using it. A bit of Tim Holts tattered rose for the back ground and stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa. Have got another card and a few more to put together so will hopefully be back in a bit - got to go feed the kids!

Less is More - Metallic

Very quick card today for the Less is More challenge, which is to use something that has a metallic finish.
I have had this metallic paper for ages, think it came free with a magazine and have never known what to do with it. So put it through my cuttlebug with an embossing folder and cut a butterfly from it. Not very easy to photograph, hope you can see that it's purple :)

If you have never visited the Less is More blog you really are missing something special and there are already some fantastic cards on there for this challenge.

Kenny K - Week 58

On a roll this weekend managed to get another challenge card done for Kenny-K. This week is a receipe of 3 designer papers, 2 flowers and 1 ribbon.
Started this card on Saturday with the image (Groove Dude) for my nephews Birthday and thought I would wait for the challenge. Wasn't sure I would get the flowers to fit, specially for a 19 year old lad! So used a Marianne flower die and cut out 6 layers. The paper is from an old dictionary I brought from a charity shop for about £1.50 and it's like tracing paper. Spritzed and scrunched and added distress ink to try and make them a bit more manley. My nephew is a big fan of the theatre and musicals and found the rock paper I think on Bearly Mine web site. The other paper is G.C.D, Paris Nights and we are regular visitors to the Hippodrome in Birmingham so this paper fits really well :)I also added an inside to this card, with an envelope so I can put his money safely inside.

Hope everyone is having a fab bank holiday, weather not to good here so good excuse to stay in my craft room :)

Less is More - Week 30

Woot back again am on a roll today hehe. This weeks Less is More challenge is to create a card using 3 challenges from the last 29 weeks!
I had this new Poinsettia stamp arrive the other day by Sheena Douglass and wanted to do something with it so embossed and cut out the individual petals. I did some dry embossing on an 8 x 8 card, which wasn't easy and added some swirly die cuts. This could work as a Christmas card so this is my first one for this year hehe.

The challenges I have used are:

Week 12 - Off Centre
Week 14 - White on White (if Chrissie & Mandi let me off the silver embossing) if not....
Week 15 - Embossing - dry & heat ;)
Week 17 - Pick a square
Week 19 - In the Frame

Kenny K - Layers

At last managed to get some time to do some crafting and enter a Kenny K challenge, which this week is layers.
Used the fab Bling Baby for this card and coloured her with some of my new Copic's from my Kenny K blog hop win and some of the flowers and ribbon from the same prize and the label die hehe (won so much crafty stuff and still haven't got it all yet never mind had chance to use it all). Papers are from K&Co called Hopscotch. Made this card for a girl at work for her 21st.

Hope everyone is having a fab bank holiday weekend off now to make a Less is More challenge card. Talk about going from one extreme to the other hehe :)

Less is More - Things that Move

Real quick post today as I have a few cards to make and only have today to get them done. This week at Less is More the theme is Things That Move, which covers pretty much anything hehe.
I used a template from Cardmaking & Papercraft (there is a fab hotair balloon as well) to create the kite using different papers. Did a bit of sponging on the card to create some sky and added some twine and ribbon. The sentiment is a rub-on and thats about it. This card will be winding it's way to my nephew.

A big thank you for all the amazing comments last week, apologies for not making it round everyone and not sure how much commenting I will get done this week as I have a very busy couple of weeks coming up at work so have a fab week and will hopefully see you all for next weeks challenge :)

I ♥ Promarkers - Sketch

Finally managed to get a card made for the I ♥ Promarkers challenge. This week they have a fantastic sketch to follow and thought this would be perfect to use for my son's birthday card.
Have used one of my new stamps from LOTV (had a bit of a spending spree over there) and coloured him with promarkers. Papers are from Serif and I think they came free with a magazine and a ticket from Tim Holtz.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend :)

One Layer - Use Ink

Oh boy was this card a challenge!! Chrissie & Mandi at Less is More have really done it this week with a one layer card using ink. I have never done anything like this before and there are ALOT of bits of paper & card in the bin.
I decided to use the acrylic block technique using a big and juicy ink pad, foliage. I practiced this a lot, my first hurdle was finding something to use as a spritzer. Ended up using a tester perfume bottle, cleaned out of course but my craft room still smells of perfume lol. It then took many attempts on different cards and papers to get this to work. Not enough water and the ink doesnt spread, to much water and it drips or splodges when you lift the block and then you need to make sure your fingers are clean, got a great finger print on one that I thought this is going to be it!!

The stamp is a new one that arrived this morning from create & craft called split tree from Barbara Gray for her next lesson which will be on in September (managed to miss her first one and even had stamps at the ready tsk). This set also came with 5 different leaves to dress the tree but decided I didn't want to mess this one up. This card still isn't perfect but for a new technique i'm fairly pleased with it. Thank you Chrissie & Mandi for pushing my boundaries yet again :)

Less is More - Colours of your nations flag

Well this week at Less is More, Chrissie and Mandi have come up with a fantastic challenge to make a card using the colours of your flag. I was going to stick with the English red and white but decided to add a bit of blue in there as well.
I did start making a card using a teabag folded flower made out of red vellum and also made a windmill with red vellum but couldn't decide how to use them in a card, so after watching Barbara Gray this morning on Create & Craft I decided to get her fabulous balloon stamps out.

Used the largest of the 3 stamps and coloured it with copics, should have really used a blue ink to stamp with but unfortunatley I dont have one that I can then use my copics with so afraid had to stamp in black. Mounted the image on to some red card and stamped the message straight on the card in blue.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend, we have just had a great thunder storm here, typically I had just wartered the garden tsk :)

Less is More - Lucky Dip

This week at Less is More the challenge is a lucky dip and Mandi & Chrissie want something Fruity!

Don't know why I make these cards so difficult for myself, I should have just stuck with the strawberries, but I wanted to do something different. I found this stencil that I have had for years, came with an embroidery magazine I used to collect and have never done anything with any of them!
I used a selection of inks to sponge through the stencil, something that was all the rage about 20 years ago hehe and cut the image out. Now this is a fairly big stencil and even cut out it didn't fit on my 8x8 card and it just didn't look right on white anyway so improvised and made a black card. It then needed some text on it somehow, after rummaging for ages through my stash looking for something suitable, I knew I was going to have to freehand it with a white pen. I did cheat a little and printed the words out and then traced them onto the card before going over it with the white pen.

Not overly sure about this card, does it pass as a C&S, not much white space on this one hehe. Anyway let me know what you think, can always go back to the strawberries :)

Anything Goes

Made this card for a friend at work and fortunately this week at I ♥ Promarkers the challenge is Anything Goes.
The image is from Charmed Cards and coloured with Promarkers, the papers are from Dovecraft Eastern Promise and used black and plum card and a gold pen. Punched out flowers and used liqued pearls for the centres.

Thank you for popping by and don't forget to leave a comment as I love to read them :)

WOYWW and a WIN

Well not had much chance to blog or do anything crafty for a while, summer holidays have now hit and have been out and about doing stuff with the kids, but that hasn't stoped me ordering crafty bits hehe.

My desk at the moment is a bit of a mess, managed to finish a card for a friend at work, using a fab Charmed Cards & Crafts image (they have a new blog btw if you were a Dottie's World follower). Had some great stamps arrive today from LOTV, they have just released their new Christmas collection, had a book come for using Nesties and also a pile of Craft Artist cd's and there is more.........................
I entered the KennyK 1 year Anniversary blog hop the other week and I WON!!!!! Their prize is amazing, from Kenny K stamps to gift vouchers, copic markers, ribbons, embelishments, the list goes on. Can't wait to get my hands on it all, still can't believe I won hehe :)

Anyway if you haven't been over to Julia's blog go check it out and visit some amazing desks from around the globe but be warned its addictive :)

Less is More - Circles

A very quick post tonight and a very quick card for the Less is More challenge, which this week is circles. I have no idea where the weekend went, but oh boy it went quick hehe.
Am starting to really enjoy using my cd's and am now getting the hang of printing straight onto my cards. This image is from My Craft Studio and made this card 4x4". Have just ordered a bundle of cd's from Create & Craft, which was very naughty of me but I could not resist hehe.

Hope everyone had a fab weekend, will try and get round to do some commenting but have one hell of a busy week as I break up on Friday for a week off! Crafty time here I come hehe :)

Kenny K BlogAversary

WOW Kenny K have got some amazing prizes up for grabs over on their blog to celebrate their 1 year anniversary, plus a brilliant blog hop showcasing their new release of images.

Not entered a Kenny K challenge for a while and was actually waiting for lasts weeks challenge as I wanted to make a card for a friend who is hitting 40 and as it happens there wasn't one last week so made this card anyway and fortunately the challenge this week is anything goes hehe.
Used the fabulous Carmen Electrafying, she makes a fab card for guys, and coloured her with Copics. Paper is from My Craft Studio, which I created myself using different elements from the cd and other bits and pieces from my stash.

Well thats Monday nearly over with, hope everyone has had a fab day, roll on the weekend hehe

Something with Legs

Where has the weekend gone! There are no where near enough hours in the day, hope everyone has had a fab weekend and yours hasn't gone as quick as mine :)

Well this week Chrissie and Mandi want a One Layer Card over at Less is More using Something with Legs, why oh why am I finding these so difficult! There is so many things I could have used or is that the problem to much choice, anyway not overly happy with either of these cards but thought I would post them just so you knew I have tried as once Monday rolls round work takes over and crafting takes a back seat. This card is computer generated using an image from My Craft Studio Flourishes and sentiment from TLC. I really wanted to add something to this but not quiet sure what.

This card is another image from TLC printed straight on the card and then added the lines and measurements (watched Barbara Gray on Create & Craft do something similar) but it just wasn't doing it for me, again not sure why, so gave up on this one.

Right time for bed and if you have never popped over to Less is More you really should, the cards over there are AMAZING!

Shades of Blue

My gosh I can not believe how quick Saturday's go! Spent ages again trying to work out something to do for this Less is More Challenge which this week Chrissie & Mandi want shades of blue. After going through my stamps a number of times and stamping a couple of things in blue I decided to give these Polka Doodles stamps ago.

I watched Nikky Hall from Polka Doodles on Create and Craft do this technique using promarkers and remember thinking WOW, which is why I brought the stamps and have NEVER used them!!
Spent an age cutting out all the stamps, all the stones, grasses, fence, trees, bushes are all individual stamps and they are tiny and had to cut out masks so I could layer the stamps, but I really enjoyed it.

When I watched the demo, Nicky just used the wedge end of the promarkers to colour everything, don't think I have ever taken the lid off that end hehe. Really had to force myself to just throw the colour on the paper and quickly so as the colours merged nicely together while still wet. I then just simply cut the image out and stuck it straight onto a card blank. Stamped a happy birthday straight onto the card and thats about it.

Thank you again Chrissie & Mandi. From your challenge I have used stamps that I have never used and tried a technique that I have never tried.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend and enjoying the gorgeous weather :)

Less is More - Sketch

Oh my gosh I thought this was going to be easier week! The challenge over at Less is More is a wonderful sketch, which I usually love but I have really struggled with this.

Ended up just printing some images from a My Craft Studio cd and cutting them out with my nesties. Mounted them on to black card and then onto silver and added the sentiment and that's it.
Taken me all day to come up with something for this card, no idea why, I did start with balloons but couldn't make these work. Will hopefully use these on some other card, probably another Clean and Simple one hehe.
Hope everyone is having a fab weekend, spent Friday moving tons of soil and gardening, so I now have muscles aching that I never knew I had!

Off now to do some commenting, some really amazing cards already posted and I am really late with this today :)

Sweet Stampin - Things with Wings

Quick post tonight - thought I would have another go at the challenge over at Sweet Stampin, which this week is anything with wings. The sponsor this week is Pollycraft and I brought this little beauty some time ago and have used her a fair few times to make cards but didn't get round to blogging them.
Anyway I didn't realise she was from Pollycraft until I popped over there to check out the digis so made this card for the challenge. She is coloured with Promarkers with sparkle added to her wings and some liquid pearls. Paper is from Dovecraft and the paper flower is a new set from Hunkydory. Punches from Martha Stewart.

Well that's it for tonight, hope everyone is having a great Monday, we have just had an absolute downpour, praying for better weather tomorrow as we are off to Wimbledon! :)

Less is More - Monogram

Well this challenge threw me into a mild panic and to be honest i'm surprised I managed to make something to enter. Mandi & Chrissie at Less is More want a Monogram letter or letter's but not the whole word.

I find it very difficult to make a card without having someone in mind for it, so I was really stumped with this until I remembered that I am going to a civil wedding next Sunday and had wanted to make a card for this but hadn't really known what to do and thought I could use their intials.
So used Vivaldi font (Mandi you always find such amazing fonts!) and did a little work with them in photo shop to link them together and printed it onto a piece of card the same as the main card. I have glittered the N as it did look a little plain and then mounted it onto black card.

The border was made completely by accident. I did just want a faint swirly border and experimented on an offcut of card and decided I didn't like, I then tried another swirly stamp and just stamped it straight over the top just to see what the swirls would look like and thought, hey that works! To be honest my experiment looks better than the finished border on the card, but didn't really want to waste the card blank as its a lovely silk 8 x 8 card. Finished the border off with some black ribbon and added 3 black gems.

Really pleased I had a go at this challenge as I really didn't think I would be able to come up with anything. I must also say a big thank you to all the lovely comments I got last week for my card, I managed to comment on everybody up until the end of the weekend, but I'm afraid once work kicks back in on Monday I don't really get much chance to blog but I do have a look at all the wonderful cards. You are all AMAZING!!

Sweet Stampin - Food Glorious Food

Well this is the first time I have entered this challenge at Sweet Stampin, one of my lovely blogging pals Alison is on the design team so thought I would give her some support :) I made this card a while a go for a girl at work and the stamps are i-cling. The main cup cake has bee layered and the yummy icing has been treated to some 3-d gloss. The papers are from The English Paper company and I did go around the paper on the inside with embossing powder to make it look frosted (doesn't show to well on the photo)

Love this shape card as you get to decorate so much of it hehe

Hope everyone is having a fab Sunday been raining all day here so had a great excuse to sit and craft all day :)

*Edit* Is it just me or is Blogger playing silly buggers again!

Less is More - One Layer

Oh boy, one layer cards, anything you do with this style you know has to be done directly onto the card and one little mistake means staring all over again. Well thankfully managed to make this card with no slip ups, shear fluke i'm sure and pretty pleased with the end result. Chrissie & Mandi sure know how to set these challenges over at Less is More but I can't wait to see what the next challenge is each week. I must also say a big thank you to everyone that commented on my card last week, I have never had so many!
These fab stamps came in the post this morning so this is my first attempt at using them, they are from Clarity Stamps and I love them. Have never attempted anything like this before and really enjoyed making this. I used water colour pencils to colour the image, which I haven't used in ages and again really enjoyed using them, broken china distress ink for the back ground and a nestie to create the circle. Off now to do some blog visiting as there are already alot of entries and if you get behind on the commenting you never catch up hehe

Hope everyone has a fab weekend :)

Sparkly Bling

This week at I ♥ Promarkers the challenge is sparkly bling, which I just love, but I didn't put as much on this card as I thought I would, those CAS cards are slowly getting to me hehe.
The image is from Crafts & Me, which I have wanted to use for a while now after watching a tutorial by Dana but she used prisma pencils to colour the image. I thought I would try it with promarkers. Think it's worked pretty well, going to try it in shades of red next stayed safe with the golds hehe. Her skin I'm afraid is copics, have tried and tried with promarkers and just don't think I have the right colours and then after seeing a list of pens Vixykins used to colour skin on her gorgeous card I knew I wasn't using the right colours so I am now waiting for a delivery of some new promarkers :) Papers are from Paper Cellar, which have been stitched and then edged with glitter glue. Flower is from the Pound Shop and dies are MS. I also added some gold shimmer paint to her hair but I can't get that to show on the photo.

Hope everyone is having a fab Monday :)
