Kenny K - Week 58

On a roll this weekend managed to get another challenge card done for Kenny-K. This week is a receipe of 3 designer papers, 2 flowers and 1 ribbon.
Started this card on Saturday with the image (Groove Dude) for my nephews Birthday and thought I would wait for the challenge. Wasn't sure I would get the flowers to fit, specially for a 19 year old lad! So used a Marianne flower die and cut out 6 layers. The paper is from an old dictionary I brought from a charity shop for about £1.50 and it's like tracing paper. Spritzed and scrunched and added distress ink to try and make them a bit more manley. My nephew is a big fan of the theatre and musicals and found the rock paper I think on Bearly Mine web site. The other paper is G.C.D, Paris Nights and we are regular visitors to the Hippodrome in Birmingham so this paper fits really well :)I also added an inside to this card, with an envelope so I can put his money safely inside.

Hope everyone is having a fab bank holiday, weather not to good here so good excuse to stay in my craft room :)

Less is More - Week 30

Woot back again am on a roll today hehe. This weeks Less is More challenge is to create a card using 3 challenges from the last 29 weeks!
I had this new Poinsettia stamp arrive the other day by Sheena Douglass and wanted to do something with it so embossed and cut out the individual petals. I did some dry embossing on an 8 x 8 card, which wasn't easy and added some swirly die cuts. This could work as a Christmas card so this is my first one for this year hehe.

The challenges I have used are:

Week 12 - Off Centre
Week 14 - White on White (if Chrissie & Mandi let me off the silver embossing) if not....
Week 15 - Embossing - dry & heat ;)
Week 17 - Pick a square
Week 19 - In the Frame

Kenny K - Layers

At last managed to get some time to do some crafting and enter a Kenny K challenge, which this week is layers.
Used the fab Bling Baby for this card and coloured her with some of my new Copic's from my Kenny K blog hop win and some of the flowers and ribbon from the same prize and the label die hehe (won so much crafty stuff and still haven't got it all yet never mind had chance to use it all). Papers are from K&Co called Hopscotch. Made this card for a girl at work for her 21st.

Hope everyone is having a fab bank holiday weekend off now to make a Less is More challenge card. Talk about going from one extreme to the other hehe :)

Less is More - Things that Move

Real quick post today as I have a few cards to make and only have today to get them done. This week at Less is More the theme is Things That Move, which covers pretty much anything hehe.
I used a template from Cardmaking & Papercraft (there is a fab hotair balloon as well) to create the kite using different papers. Did a bit of sponging on the card to create some sky and added some twine and ribbon. The sentiment is a rub-on and thats about it. This card will be winding it's way to my nephew.

A big thank you for all the amazing comments last week, apologies for not making it round everyone and not sure how much commenting I will get done this week as I have a very busy couple of weeks coming up at work so have a fab week and will hopefully see you all for next weeks challenge :)

I ♥ Promarkers - Sketch

Finally managed to get a card made for the I ♥ Promarkers challenge. This week they have a fantastic sketch to follow and thought this would be perfect to use for my son's birthday card.
Have used one of my new stamps from LOTV (had a bit of a spending spree over there) and coloured him with promarkers. Papers are from Serif and I think they came free with a magazine and a ticket from Tim Holtz.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend :)

One Layer - Use Ink

Oh boy was this card a challenge!! Chrissie & Mandi at Less is More have really done it this week with a one layer card using ink. I have never done anything like this before and there are ALOT of bits of paper & card in the bin.
I decided to use the acrylic block technique using a big and juicy ink pad, foliage. I practiced this a lot, my first hurdle was finding something to use as a spritzer. Ended up using a tester perfume bottle, cleaned out of course but my craft room still smells of perfume lol. It then took many attempts on different cards and papers to get this to work. Not enough water and the ink doesnt spread, to much water and it drips or splodges when you lift the block and then you need to make sure your fingers are clean, got a great finger print on one that I thought this is going to be it!!

The stamp is a new one that arrived this morning from create & craft called split tree from Barbara Gray for her next lesson which will be on in September (managed to miss her first one and even had stamps at the ready tsk). This set also came with 5 different leaves to dress the tree but decided I didn't want to mess this one up. This card still isn't perfect but for a new technique i'm fairly pleased with it. Thank you Chrissie & Mandi for pushing my boundaries yet again :)

Less is More - Colours of your nations flag

Well this week at Less is More, Chrissie and Mandi have come up with a fantastic challenge to make a card using the colours of your flag. I was going to stick with the English red and white but decided to add a bit of blue in there as well.
I did start making a card using a teabag folded flower made out of red vellum and also made a windmill with red vellum but couldn't decide how to use them in a card, so after watching Barbara Gray this morning on Create & Craft I decided to get her fabulous balloon stamps out.

Used the largest of the 3 stamps and coloured it with copics, should have really used a blue ink to stamp with but unfortunatley I dont have one that I can then use my copics with so afraid had to stamp in black. Mounted the image on to some red card and stamped the message straight on the card in blue.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend, we have just had a great thunder storm here, typically I had just wartered the garden tsk :)
